Boston baseball fans are indeed a peculiar lot: Blessed by one of the best (if not the best) ballparks, routinely heartbroken by a team whose last World Series Championship occurred over 80 years ago, and plagued by a New York rival capable of buying World Series Championships literally at will, they remain steadfastly dedicated and loyal to their team. Someone once told me that without pain, we wouldn't know we were alive: If that's true, then Red Sox fans should be thankful, for they're immortal!

Of course, I'm counted among those fans, and remember when batters were fanned by the "Spaceman", long balls spanked the net courtesy of Yaz, Rico, Rice, Conigliaro & others, and you could get a great seat at the ticket window even on game day. While those days are gone, the allure and excitement of the Red Sox & Fenway Park remains. Enjoy!
